Abbey Bridge Rooms and Facilities
Abbey Bridge was originally a public house and has sandstone flagged floors in the hall and guest’s lounge. As with many of the public houses in the area Abbey Bridge became a temperance inn during the latter part of the 19th century and was extended to provide a meeting room. So the southern part of the house has large casement windows and high ceilings whilst the northern part is a traditional Georgian farmhouse with sash windows and many original features.
The guest bedrooms, named after local castles, one twin/super king size double, one king-size double, are equipped with hair-dryers, clock radios and tea/coffee making equipment. A range of toiletries is supplied in the bathrooms.
Bew has a king size bed and an excellent ensuite shower room. The large sash window looks to the rear of the house.
Triermain is in the “newer” part of the house and looks to the south of the house over the garden. The ensuite has a large cast iron bath with an over bath shower. The room can be furnished as a twin room or as a super king size double depending on requirements.
There is a cosy guest lounge on the ground floor with a television and wood burning stove to keep you warm on the cooler evenings.
A washing machine and tumble drier are available for a small charge and an ironing board and iron can be provided.
Walking boots and wet waterproofs can be dried in a large airing cupboard in an out building.
